The cities are in transformation and the effects are easily verifiable in a short journey through their centers, either in the impact of the results or in the difficulties and interruptions that the work processes create in everyday life.
After decades of neglect of its buildings, urban regeneration is underway in Lisbon, focused essentially on transforming its center into platforms prepared to welcome (new) people, new uses, and new business.
Along with urban regeneration, the rehabilitation of the existing historic buildings also moves rapidly, with frequent changes in residential or commercial use, for new hotel uses, whether catering or housing, aimed at tourism.
We, as architects often have to face different approaches: preserving, adapting, renovating or demolishing?
All the best from Lisbon,
